Vintage Indie's "I Dream of Spring" Swap
When I saw that Gabreial of Vintage Indie had posted about an "I Dream of Spring Vintage Swap" I just knew that I had to participate in it! Head on over to Vintage Indie to learn more about it....
Here's snippet from Gabreial about the swap:
I dream of spring, don't you? For when little tiny green buds start to show their face again for the warmth of summer. I dream of open windows for a breath of fresh air. I dream of early mornings full of front porch tea and long morning gazes. I dream of the sweet smell of blooming flowers and gorgeous cherry trees. I dream of picnics in the park and trips to the farmers market. What do you dream for spring?
Share the joys of his new season and swap your dreams of spring. Each swap package must include two vintage/thrifted items (this is Vintage Indie after all) OR one vintage/thrifted item and one handmade item and the rest is up to you. Packages should have your partner dreaming of spring, gardening and the joys of a new season.
Ok, so here are MY answers to the questions:
a. What's your favorite part of spring?
My favorite part of Spring is the warmer days but you still need a coat, little flowers poking up out of the ground (I have lots of daffodils, crocuses, and other spring flowers that pop up!). Of course, I'm in Maine so it also means it's MUD season! Time to dig out the wellies....
b. What are your favorite flowers?
I love all kinds of different flowers.....but I'm not the roses in a vase type of girl....I like wildflowers and others that I can grow outside in the garden - as mentioned before daffodils, crocus, grape hyacinth, ornamental lillies, morning glories....you get the idea, right?
c. What types of hobbies/crafts do you enjoy?
A more appropriate question would probably be what don't I dabble in - I'm not very good at anything in particular but I do love to play! Anyway, I like cross-stitch, collage, beading or jewelry making, some sewing (my mom's better at it!), book binding and, and, and....For hobbies, I love to read, learn about the internet (blogging, website building, etsy), digital design in Photoshop AND mostly, spend time with my young son, Andrew!
d. What types of vintage do you collect or look for?
I collect vintage ephemera, buttons, postcards, linens including tableclothes and hankies, some depression glass (mostly pink and clear), snack sets and some jewelry....
e. Any allergies or things that you absolutely can't stand?
Not really anything that I can think of! No allergies although I really don't like the smell of cigarettes - it gives me a headache.
Here's my pictoral view of spring:
